Rouletteの使い方
Make fun and fair decisions with a customizable roulette wheel.
What is Roulette?
Roulette lets you pick one option from a list of 2 to 10 by spinning a visual wheel. It is best for short lists where you want a moment of shared suspense before the result appears. For lists longer than 20 items or for repeated drawings without replacement, use the Picker instead.
使い方の手順
Add your options
Type each option into the input field on the right and press "Add". You can register 2 to 10 items. Names longer than 10 characters get truncated on the wheel, so keep them short. Order does not matter — every item has the same probability.
Review the colors
Colors are assigned automatically from a palette designed for contrast. If you want a different color for a particular item, delete and re-add it in a different slot. The wheel will always keep sectors visually distinct.
Spin the wheel
Press the central "START" button. The wheel spins for 3–5 seconds with a randomized rotation each time, so the same option can be hit twice in a row. The button is disabled during animation to prevent misfires.
Share the result
The selected item is shown large in the center. Take a screenshot to share, announce it on the spot, or reset and spin again. Agreeing in advance that "one spin decides it" avoids arguments about re-rolls.
A concrete scenario
Four friends deciding on a second bar at 7 p.m.
Situation
After the first bar, the group argues about three candidates for the second stop. Thirty minutes pass with no agreement. Everyone is tired and wants to move on.
How it played out
The organizer opens Decidable Roulette, adds the three bar names, and hits START. In three seconds the wheel lands on "Bar B". Even the people who preferred other options accept it ("the wheel decided") and the group reaches the new venue ten minutes later. No lingering resentment compared to a 30-minute argument.
ヒントとコツ
- 4 to 8 items is the sweet spot — sectors stay readable and results feel meaningful
- The order of items does not affect probability — all equal
- Settings are saved in your browser for next visit
- On phones, landscape mode makes the wheel larger and easier to read

Common mistakes to avoid
- 1Re-spinning until you like the result — this defeats the fairness. Agree on "one spin decides it" up front.
- 2Trying to add more than 10 items — use the Picker for larger lists, the wheel becomes unreadable.
- 3Writing very long labels (over 20 characters) — they get truncated on the wheel. Use short nicknames.
- 4Spinning repeatedly without recording results — you lose track of decisions afterward.
